Dana Entin is Parenting Educator and Consultant who has worked with children and their families for over 30 years. From digital technology to raising healthy teens, and from early child care, to development, Dana’s past profession as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner puts her in a unique position to work with families in a consulting and “coaching” role. Using a respectful and individualized approach, she is an advocate for both parents and their children. Her goal is to help promote and ensure strong and trusting relationships between parents and their children, and to help build harmonious family interactions.

Dana’s career started in 1985, as an RN in pediatric critical care at UCLA Medical Center. In 1989, Dana completed a Masters degree in Nursing from UCLA and became a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. For the following 10 years, Dana worked as a PNP in two very busy pediatric practices in Los Angeles. As a PNP, she provided primary health care services to patients from birth to adolescence, taught baby care classes, counseled parents on health practices, provided lactation services, was a graduate student preceptor, and a clinical pediatric nursing instructor. Also during these years, Dana acquired a deep knowledge and respect for family process and family dynamics, child development, and a true understanding of how best to help parents understand, appreciate and maximize their child’s physical, social and emotional health and well being.

For the past 18 years, Dana has worked as a Parenting Educator and Consultant; her practice is called “Rx for Parenting”. She offers support and education to parents in one-to-one private consultation and in small group settings. She also teaches and lectures in a multitude of venues, to both parents and professionals. She specializes in areas related to sibling relationships, technology, health, prevention & safety, education, development, nutrition, discipline, and behavior. Her work in the area of digital technology and its impact on children and family is current and impressive.

Dana is currently associated with the Palisades Neurodevelopment Center as a Parenting Educator and Consultant. She is a past coordinator of the Parenting Center at Kehillat Israel in Pacific Palisades, where she facilitated parenting groups for over 13 years. In the past two years, Dana has also been an expert contributor to Culture Reframed’s educational program for parents of tweens and teens, aimed at building resistance to the perils & the hyper sexualized digital media content online
